Ishita Pateria founded State of Mind – The Emotional Centre in December 2016. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, Bombay Psychological Association and Counsellors Association of India. She has over ten years of clinical experience in the field of mental health including depression, anxiety, phobia, stress management, self esteem issues, eating disorders, couple and marriage counselling, grief/bereavement management, substance abuse, compulsive addiction, domestic abuse, self harm, trauma, PTSD, fertility and cancer amongst others.
She has completed an MSc in Counselling Psychology from City University London and MSc in Psychological Therapists from Queen Mary University, London. She also holds a certificate in Counselling from Regents College, London and in Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Institute of Human Technology, Mumbai.
She has obtained extensive training during her degrees and from her experience is a counselling psychologist at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai and through various clinics in London such as Promis Clinics, Each Counselling and the NHS. Ishita believes in providing an integrative approach to her clients based on their needs and requirements by using techniques from CBT, person-centred, DBT, mindfulness and motivational interviewing amongst other therapies. With her enthusiasm and dedication, she aims to maintain a collaborative and therapeutic alliance with all her clients giving confidentiality, respect, trust and commitment the utmost priority.
